A commissioning checklist that is written before mobilisation
A solar plant commissioning checklist is only useful if the acceptance criteria are agreed before testing starts. We align the checklist with IEC 62446, the equipment manuals and any grid operator requirement at the estimate stage, so the same document drives the work and the handover — rather than being reverse-engineered from whatever was measured.
The sequence matters as much as the content: continuity and polarity before energisation, insulation resistance before backfill where possible, IV curves and thermography under conditions that make the results comparable. Testing at the wrong irradiance produces numbers that satisfy nobody.
Findings closed out, not just listed
As an installation and commissioning company we close our own findings: an underperforming string, a loose termination or a hot cell traced by thermography is corrected and retested by the same crew, and the retest is recorded against the original observation.
The handover pack contains the full test records, as-built drawings, protection settings and warranty documentation in the format the asset manager and the grid operator each need.

01Can you commission a plant another contractor built?+
Yes. Independent testing and commissioning is a standard scope for us, including takeover of stalled projects. We test what is installed and report it as found — that is the point of engaging an independent crew.
02What is included in the handover documentation?+
Test records per string and per circuit, thermographic report, functional test protocols, protection settings, as-built drawings and equipment documentation. Format and language are agreed before mobilisation.
03How long does commissioning take on a 30 MW plant?+
For a plant built to a clean as-built record, a few weeks with parallel crews. Where cable schedules do not match the installation, the same scope can take several times longer — which is why testing discipline during construction is not a separate topic from commissioning.
