Requirements come from three directions at once
Solar farm fencing requirements rarely sit in one document. Planning conditions dictate height, materials and wildlife gaps; the insurer dictates detection and response; the tender dictates the rest. Where those three conflict — and they often do on agricultural land — we resolve it before ordering material, not after the posts are in the ground.
Coverage is planned against the actual field layout, so cameras see approach routes and inverter stations rather than empty rows. The coverage plan is part of the handover pack.
Fenced in the right order
Fencing installed too early blocks the machinery still needed inside the field; installed too late it delays energisation and leaves finished plant unsecured. We sequence the perimeter against the construction programme so the last access opening closes when the last delivery is in.
Where a solar farm fencing tender is packaged separately from the main works, we bid it as a standalone scope and coordinate with the principal contractor on site access and interface points.

01Do you install fencing on projects you did not build?+
Yes. Fencing and CCTV are regularly contracted separately, including on plants built by another contractor or already in operation.
02Can you meet insurer requirements for detection and monitoring?+
Yes. Send us the insurer specification with the tender documents. Detection type, camera coverage and alarm transmission are priced against that specification rather than a generic package.
03How do you handle wildlife corridor conditions?+
Where planning requires ground clearance or wildlife passages, they are set out with the fence line and recorded in the as-built layout, since these are usually checked at the planning compliance inspection.
